Remarkable GCSE results for the 2026 cohort, with Grade 9 being the more common grade by far.

“These exceptional GCSE results reflect the hard work, determination and character of our Year 11 students. I am immensely proud of all they have achieved, both academically and beyond the classroom, and I know they will build on this success as they continue their journey through Roedean and into the Sixth Form.”

Academic Excellence

Our Year 11 cohort achieved an exceptional set of GCSE results, with Grade 9 emerging as the most common grade across the year group. 1 in 3 of all grades awarded were Grade 9, while almost 3/4 were Grades 9–7. 19 students secured 6 or more Grade 9s, and 1 in 5 students achieved an outstanding sweep of Grades 9–8.

Ready for Sixth Form and Beyond

These outstanding GCSE results provide an excellent foundation for future success, with 72% of students achieving at least one Grade 9. Alongside their academic achievements, our Year 11 students continued to embrace the breadth of opportunities that defines a Roedean education, developing the confidence, character and independence that will serve them well as they begin their Sixth Form journey and prepare for life beyond school.

Teaching That Inspires

Behind every success lies the dedication and expertise of Roedean’s teachers, who support each student to go further than they thought possible. Many students not only achieved the highest grades, but also outperformed their own expectations, a true testament to the power of inspirational teaching, expert guidance, and an environment where determination leads to achievement.

More Than Academics

At Roedean, success is measured not just by exam results but also by the richness of life beyond the classroom. This year’s GCSE achievements highlight how students balance academic excellence with wider contributions, excelling in a range of activities that reflect the school’s holistic ethos. These results celebrate not only academic achievement, but also the growth of each individual. At Roedean, we nurture the whole person, preparing students to thrive in every aspect of school life and beyond.
