‘Niamh Green has resigned as Roedean School’s Head and accepted a new post at St George’s School for Girls in Edinburgh.
As Roedean is likely to experience a gap between Niamh’s departure and a new head starting due to different notice periods, two of our experienced Deputy Heads stand ready to step up to lead the School in any interim period.
Ross Barrand and John Hobbs are longstanding, well known and respected figures at Roedean with 25 years’ leadership experience at the School collectively.
Dr Barrand is presently Deputy Head Co-Curriculum and Partnerships and Dr Hobbs is Director of Strategy and Innovation.
We are very pleased they have agreed to support us in this way and it means there will be a seamless handover of leadership – the girls, their parents, and staff can be reassured that there will be no change to the high standards we all expect at Roedean while the Council works quickly to find a new Head.
Right now, the School is engaging with recruitment specialists in the sector to find the outstanding candidate.
Roedean is confident we will find that candidate. We are looking for a leader who can continue to deliver an outstanding holistic education and who understands the clear need for girls’ education in the 21st century.
