Congratulations to the Roedean Year 11s who have achieved outstanding results at GCSE level, following on from top grades for the Year 13s at A Level one week ago. The School is hugely proud of these students’ fantastic grades, especially as so many complemented their academic prowess with excellence in other areas of school life, underlining Roedean’s holistic approach to education.

37% of 1178 entries were awarded at Grade 9, the most common grade at Roedean – this constitutes the best ever percentage at this elite grade. This cohort also achieved the highest ever proportion of grades at 9-8. Particular congratulations must go to six students who achieved straight Grade 9s – Athena, Constance, Daisy, Michelle, Natalie, and Zyta have 65 of these top grades between them! Furthermore, 26 students were awarded all Grades 9-8, and fifteen achieved nine or more Grade 9s. The students have all shown exceptional academic focus and diligence, and approached their examinations with quiet confidence.
Niamh Green, Head, is thrilled that the Year 11s have achieved such brilliant grades: ‘Congratulations to the Year 11s. I have no doubt that these GCSE grades will be a stepping stone for the girls to succeed with confidence and pride in the Sixth Form and beyond. I am hugely grateful to my colleagues who have prepared the Year 11s so well. There are so many stand-out performances, including those who have definitely outperformed their own expectations and achieved grades which are the product of dedication and determination – the girls all thoroughly deserve their success!’
