Roedean Diploma
Beyond the Classroom
Roedean launches the Roedean Diploma. A gateway to recognising exceptional dedication, skill and contribution.
In September 2024, Roedean launched the Roedean Diploma. This innovative programme enables students to document their participation in academic enrichment, leadership roles in sports, arts, community service, and other personal development projects, culminating in one of three diplomas: Junior, Senior, or Sixth Form.
“The Roedean Diploma has encouraged me to push beyond my usual interests and try new challenges. It inspired me to sign up for a Debating Competition, start preparing an academic lecture, and even enter a Spanish poetry competition, Poésíæ, which I was delighted to win. These experiences have helped me grow in unexpected ways and explore new skills, as well as discover interests I might never have otherwise found. Completing the sections gave me a sense of achievement and confidence, preparing me to take on future challenges with a well-rounded perspective.”
— Lydia, Year 12 —

Those who pursue the Roedean Diploma can be awarded a Distinction for their prowess. It’s a gateway to recognising exceptional dedication, skill growth, and contributions across activities, building confidence and preparing girls to excel in multifaceted areas of life. This approach is a testament to the school’s commitment to a “girls first”’ education.
“The Roedean Diploma is a transformative experience, inspiring me to excel in academics, leadership, sports and creative pursuits. It’s so much more than meeting requirements, it’s about building confidence, developing meaningful skills and discovering how to make a real difference. This novel program has motivated me to think boldly, step outside my comfort zone to explore new experiences, act intentionally and strive for collective impact in everything we do.”
