Clean Sweep of LAMDA Distinctions Again
Our LAMDA results were an exceptional reflection of the commitment and talent of our students, with every single entry achieving a Distinction.
Across Acting, Musical Theatre, and Verse and Prose, students from a range of year groups took examinations at different levels, with 16 of the 40 entrants achieving scores of over 90%. Four Year 9 students achieved an outstanding 97% in Grade 5 Acting.
LAMDA also provides an important focus for our Drama Scholars, with students in Years 7 to 9 taking group examinations and achieving excellent results.
At the highest levels, our Sixth Form students continue to take on significant challenges. Lilli (Year 13) achieved Grade 7 in Solo Acting, while Jasmine and Matilda (Year 13), alongside Daisy from last year’s Year 13, completed Grade 8, the highest LAMDA level available. At Level 3, this is broadly equivalent to an A Level.
These results are testament not only to our students’ performance skills, but to the confidence, discipline and perseverance they develop through drama.

Excellent Results in Music Exams
Our music students have also enjoyed outstanding success, with examinations ranging from Grade 1 through to the Associated Board’s Performance Diploma, which goes significantly beyond the requirements of Grade 8.
Particular congratulations go to Shermane, who achieved a Merit at Grade 8 in both Double Bass and Musical Theatre Singing, and Charlotte, who passed Grade 8 Pedal Harp. Michelle (Year 13) also achieved a Merit at Grade 8 Clarinet.
Special recognition goes to Alice (Year 11), who passed her Performance Diploma on Double Bass, and Claire (Year 13), who achieved a Merit in her Performance Diploma on Flute.
Reaching this level requires exceptional musicianship, sustained commitment and many hours of preparation, making these achievements particularly impressive.

Sparkling ISTD Results
The success continued in dance, with 19 students achieving excellent results in ISTD examinations in Modern, Tap and Jazz.
Results included Distinctions and Merits across Grade 5, Silver and Gold levels, as well as Intermediate Modern. Alongside our recent top results in Ballet, these achievements demonstrate the breadth of opportunity and expertise within Roedean’s Dance Department.
Behind every result hours of practice, dedication and determination. Whether preparing for their first examination or working towards an advanced qualification, our students are challenged to develop their technique, confidence and artistry.

A Culture of Performing Arts
What is particularly encouraging is the range of students achieving success and the breadth of disciplines in which they are participating. From younger students taking their first steps in drama, music and dance to Sixth Formers performing at the highest examination levels, there is a clear culture of ambition across the performing arts at Roedean.
These results are more than a collection of grades. They reflect students who are willing to challenge themselves, commit to their craft and perform with confidence. They also reflect the expertise and dedication of the staff who support them, creating an environment in which talent can flourish.
Congratulations to all our students on these outstanding achievements. We look forward to seeing where their creativity, confidence and ambition take them next.
