Historically Roedean has been proud to support girls with bursaries and scholarships. We are constantly looking to increase the level of support we are able to offer, and the need for help is currently higher than ever before.
You can support this in two ways, either by donating to the OR Scholarship Fund or by donating directly to the school, noting that you wish the donation to support the Bursary Fund.
Roedean Bursary Fund
From the very start, Roedean has supported girls to attend through bursaries and scholarships. Much of this has been possible due to the generosity of our community. With continued support we will be able to expand our bursary fund and provide support for even more girls to benefit from a Roedean education in the future.
Bursaries are means-tested and are vital to us ensuring that access to a Roedean education is possible for all, whatever your background. All donations to our general bursary fund are gratefully received, or if you would like to discuss sponsoring a named Bursary, then please do get in touch.
Scholarships are fixed sum awards and are provided to students who exceed in a particular area, such as Sport, Music or Art, or, for students who show All Round excellence. You can read more about them here.
If you would like to make, or discuss making, a gift directly to the School to support Bursaries or Scholarships, please contact the Roedean Alumnae and Development Office by email:

The OR Scholarship Fund
The Old Roedeanians’ Scholarship Fund was established over 90 years ago to support pupils who need financial assistance to pursue their education in the Sixth Form. Pupils should either be attending the School, or have attended the School previously, or should be the children, grandchildren or great grandchildren of a former pupil of Roedean School.
Thanks to the generosity of Old Roedeanians, and careful investment, the Fund continues to grow. Recipients of the Fund testify to the difference the Award has made in enabling them to continue their education in the Sixth Form. However, future Awards depend on continued donations, which are eligible for Gift Aid. Depending on the amount, donations are either invested to yield future income, or combined with existing reserves to make up an Award.
The Award is means-tested, and Award holders are selected by the OR Scholarship Fund Trustees from a list of potential recipients proposed by the School.
If you would like further information, or would like to make a donation to the Scholarship fund, please contact the OR Scholarship Fund Trustees.
