This year, Roedean is proud to announce its exciting partnership with INVESTIN to provide students with “The Career School”. This innovative initiative provides a combination of bespoke Careers Education workshops, an immersive work experience weekend, and an assessment centre, all designed to help students explore their future careers and make informed decisions about their professional paths.

A Hands-On Approach to Career Exploration

One of the biggest challenges for students is making decisions about their careers at a young age. These choices, while essential, can often feel overwhelming. That’s where The Career School steps in. By offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience in their dream industries, Roedean students are empowered to explore their passions and assess whether a particular career is the right fit for them.

The Career School offers students the chance to explore real workplaces, interact with industry leaders, and learn about the day-to-day challenges and opportunities in different sectors. It’s more than just theoretical learning as students get a first-hand look at what it takes to succeed in various fields, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.

Through a combination of engaging workshops and practical challenges, students are encouraged to reflect on their ambitions, hone their problem-solving abilities, and fine-tune their communication and presentation skills. This holistic approach to career education enables students to build the confidence and abilities they need to succeed in today’s fast-paced job market.

Years 10 and 12 Take Part in The Career School

So far, Years 10 and 12 have had the opportunity to participate in The Career School and have already enjoyed a positive and enlightening experience. Year 10 students recently took part in the second of their Careers Education workshops, titled “The Changing Job Market: Being Business Minded.” During this session, the students were invited to reflect on entrepreneurship and think creatively about problem-solving. They were tasked with developing a new product and pitching it to a target audience, helping them understand the importance of innovation, business strategy, and effective communication.

The session was both engaging and thought-provoking, giving students valuable insights into what it takes to thrive in the business world. It also encouraged them to think critically about the evolving job market and the skills they need to remain adaptable in an ever-changing professional landscape.

Preparing for a Bright Future

The Career School is an essential part of Roedean’s commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. By providing opportunities to experience industries first-hand and interact with professionals, this program helps make the future employment market much more tangible for students. It empowers them to take charge of their career development and gain the confidence to pursue their passions with purpose.

We look forward to seeing how The Career School continues to shape the careers of Roedean students, helping them discover their true passions and realise their professional ambitions.
