Head of School

I have always aspired to be Head of School at Roedean and now I am here, I am so excited and ready to implement my new ideas.

I am Maria and I am one of the Heads of School this year. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am now in my final year at Roedean!

I take history, geography, and psychology for A level, I have a real passion for musical theatre and I am a keen cricketer. I joined in year 7 and my time here has absolutely flown by. I love the community at Roedean, which is so supportive and encouraging, helping you achieve highly, whilst in a safe and friendly environment. There is a great sense of maturity and independence as you enter the 6th Form community, which is so freeing and makes the experience very enjoyable. The diversity of the people at Roedean also really opens your eyes to the world and allows you to truly express your authentic self.

I have always aspired to be Head of School at Roedean and now I am here, I am so excited and ready to implement my new ideas. Including, bringing the year groups together, making Roedean an even more accepting, safe space, and to help everyone enjoy their educational journey. I am so proud and grateful that even when I leave Roedean, I will still be a part of the Old Roedeanian community. In the future, there are many things I want to do, such as work with charities, perform on stage to a high level, and study at university. However, that time is yet to come so here’s to year 13.
