I was set on teaching very early on in my life. I wanted to share my enjoyment of learning with everyone.

I fell in love with biology quite late when an inspirational teacher opened the door to my curiosity and led to a passion that is still growing stronger. From this experience, I believe that building a relationship with each student and each class is the most important part of teaching, and perhaps the most difficult. The act of learning requires the confidence that someone can support you and help you find your feet before you can fly on your own. I like using movement, models, and stories to make sure that everyone understands abstract concepts. When I have five minutes, I enjoy reading educational research, especially if it concerns barriers to learning and how to overcome them in the school system. It is a great responsibility and a great privilege to help a human being develop their potential.

Biology is an essential subject in a world full of uncertainty and fake information. Biology teaches you that any group cooperating well can achieve much more than each component on its own. Genetics and evolutionary sciences show us that diversity is at the core of any successful life story. I am curious about everything, and I love discussing scientific issues that link different fields, such as linguistics, human evolution, and quantum biology, in our rich extra-curricular programme. I hope that more decision-makers will come from a scientific background in the future.

My aim at Roedean is to instil a sense of wonder and fun in biology lessons without losing the strong academic ethos that scientific studies require. My passion in life has always been to discover as much as I can about the amazing world we live in and the people who inhabit it. This job is a perfect way to keep doing this every single day.
