“We raced the school’s car at the competition’s Goodwood circuit. After getting a feel for the controls, we came up with a list of proposals to increase the car’s durability and speed, which included: streamlining it to decrease air resistance, redesigning the chassis to get rid of unnecessary weight and changing the gear ratio to account for efficiency. Our group also focused on preparing the safety aspects of the vehicle for race day. To ensure our driver’s safety, we made sure all the standard race procedure checks were followed and maintained. In seeing the process, we now know the amount of work that goes into preparing for a big race!”
